Accident in Majhitar Rangpo kills 3 on Wednesday night

GANGTOK : An accident this morning in Majhitar near Rangpo claimed the life of 3 after a car fell hundred feet down a steep hill into River Teesta. The car heading for Majhitar from Bagheykhola reportedly fell into Teesta last night killing Sonam Ladhakhi and Madan Rai on the spot. The accident came to light only in the morning when a few locals spotted the car in the river. The police reached the spot after being informed by locals and rescued Barna Bas Rai, the third passenger who was still alive. However, he later succumbed to his injuries at Rangpo Primary Health Centre. The police have handed over the body to their respective families after conducting autopsies at Singtam District Hospital.
