EOI
Gangtok : The Sikkim Rajya Sainik Board aiming to incorporate as many Sikkim youth as possible into the Armed Forces has been working at all levels to attract candidates. The board with an objective to spread awareness and develop enthusiasm regarding career in the armed forces has been sending candidates for training and coaching at various institutes across the country. Secretary of Rajya Sainik Board Colonel DN Bhutia said, “The reason behind less participation in the NDA and CDS is due to the lack of awareness among people regarding opportunities in the Armed Forces. Moreover the people in Sikkim are also ignorant about opportunities available in Armed Forces.” He said, “We have already sent a batch of 24 students for NDA and CDS entrance exam coaching.

We plan to send some more in the future for different examinations.” He added, “Fresh UPSC notification for online filling of NDA applications has commenced from December 21 and will be available until the next month. The students appearing for class XII board exams next year in February 2014 can apply online for NDA and the exam will be held on April 22 next year.” “College going students should also apply for the Combined Defence Services. The coaching will be sponsored by the state government,” added Colonel Bhutia.
