Eminent Nepali writer Jagadish Ghimire Passes Away
Kathmandu : Eminent writer Jagdish Ghimire passed away on Thursday morning. He was 68. Ghimire was receiving treatment at Om Hospital for Multiple myeloma, a
tumour of the bone marrow for over a month. He was pronounced dead at
around 6 this morning, his family sources quoted. Jagadish Ghimire (10 April 1946 – 31 October 2013) was an eminent Nepali writer, political analyst and development worker. Master's Degree in Sociology from Patna University (India) and a post-graduate diploma in Population Studies from the University of Wales, Cardiff, U.K. Winner of Madan Puraskar and Uttam Shanti Puraskar for his biography Antarmanko Yatra written whilst he was in the hospital treating Multiple myeloma of spine he was suffering from.Ghimire was the Co-founder(with his wife Durga Ghimire )

in Kathmandu. He has served as assistant director of the South Asia
Region for International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), London,
1984-90; Acting Chief Executive Officer, Family Planning Association of
Nepal, 1980; consultant, United Nations Population Fund, Nepal; and
visiting lecturer, Centre for Population Studies, University of Wales.Ghimire died on 31st October 2013 at Om Hospital, Kathmandu where he was admitted a month ago.
