Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Registered as political party by ECI
GANGTOK: The Election Commission of India has registered Sikkim Krantikari Morcha as a political party. The party launched under the guidance of the rebel MLA Prem Singh Golay on February 4 had earlier applied for registration. The ECI issued a registration letter stating that it has registered the SKM as political party with registration number 56/37/2013/PPS-1 under provisions of the Representation of the People Act. Sources said that it will be allocated a symbol within 15 days.
PS Golay, who joined the party as an ordinary member on October 6 has expressed his happiness on the registration during a press meet . “A historical day for the people of Sikkim who formed the party with aspirations for good governance and future. I congratulate all our party workers, supporters and well wishers who have been persistent towards this process with a call to struggle against casteism and corruption for a better tomorrow,” said Golay after returning from Delhi where he was camping for the registration of the party. Meanwhile, the election commission has invited objections on its decision.
