Nepali writer and Bhanu Puraskar awardee GS Subba passes away
Gangtok : Gahar Singh Subba ‘Udashi’, an eminent writer and a Bhanu Puraskar awardee, passed away yesterday. He was 64 years old hailing from Soreng, west district.
Subba was attending a literary competition as a judge at Sombaria when he suffered a heart stroke. He passed away while being brought to Gangtok for treatment.
The funeral will take place on Saturday at his native place. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Subba had been awarded the Bhanu Puraskhar in 2002 by the Nepali Sahitya Parishad Sikkim. His writings include ‘Susheli Ra Sushkera’, a collection of short stories.
