Did You Know Asia's Second-Highest Bridge in Sikkim, With An Altitude Of 328-Feet


Gangtok : Singshore Bridge is one of the oldest rope bridges connecting two mountains and is considered the second highest bridge in Asia. Located in Pelling town, which is known as the jewel of the Himalayan Kingdom of Sikkim, the bridge is 328-feet (100-metre) high with a span of 656-feet (200-meter).Built in the early 2000s, the bridge attracts thousands of tourists from across the world every year. The downward view from the bridge is overwhelming with the sight of beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking views of the green hillsides above.Situated about 20 kms away from Uttray, a base camp for Singalila Mountain Range Trek, it connects two beautiful villages, Dentam and Uttarey. The Government of Sikkim is likely to introduce adventure activities like bungee jumping soon to make it more attractive for adventure seekers.The other attractive places in and around the bridge are Khecheopalri Lake, Pemayangtse Monastery, Khangchendzonga National Park, Sangachoeling Monastery, and Changey Waterfall.
