Mangar community seeks ST status : All India Mangar Association

MIRIK : The All India Mangar Association has stepped forward demanding tribal status for the community. The association held a meeting to discuss the government’s response to the deputations and documents it has submitted to concerned departments in the past. The meeting chaired by TM Thapa informed the organisation has already submitted necessary documents to the Cultural Research Institute pressing for tribal status. AIMA vice-president Prabhat Thapa said necessary documents have also been tabled before the GTA. He added the association will continue with the struggle until the government accords the community tribal status.
