SDF organises coordination meeting in Jorethang

JORETHANG : The Sikkim Democratic Front today organised a day-long coordination meeting here in Maghigoan under Salghari-Zoom constituency. The meeting was presided over by SDF vice president and West District in-charge SB Subedi in the presence of Political Advisor to the chief minister KN Rai, area MLA Madan Cintury and tourism advisor NK Subba along with area panchayat member and party supporters. While addressing the meeting, Subedi said the people of Sikkim have always been peace-loving and progressive and clearly understand the SDF’s objectives. He claimed the party has worked hard for the welfare of the people and will continue such work in future. The SDF government’s dream has always been to make Sikkim poverty and corruption free and it is determined to achieve this by 2015, he added. 

Subedi urged the people not to believe in any false claims made by anti-social elements and stressed the party will once again form government by winning all the 32 seats. MLA Madan Cintury on his part, urged party supporters to remain alert of anti-social elements who are misleading the innocent people of Sikkim. He claimed they are trying to defame the party by making false allegations just to win support. Similarly, KN Rai said the SDF has always worked for the welfare of the poor people of the state and has regularly resolved their grievances. He said the SDF government in its nearly 20-year tenure has exhibited good governance through various development works and policies. Based on these facts, the party is confident of winning the forthcoming elections, added Rai. He also announced that chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling will inaugurate the Maghay Mela this year in Jorethang. Meanwhile, party workers today welcomed eminent literary figure and former DFO Dhurba Lohagun into the SDF. Following the meeting, a massive rally was organised from Majhigaon that ended at Gandhi Park after covering Jorethang bazaar.
