Chamling sworn in as CM for fifth consecutive term, Cabinet Members List

Gangtok : Sikkim Democratic Front president Pawan Chamling was sworn in as the chief minister of the state for the fifth time in a row to create a record in the history of the country. A function had been organised at the Ashirwad Bhawan of the Raj Bhawan for the swearing-in ceremony and Governor Shriniwas Patil administered the oath of office and secrecy to Chamling in the presence of the chief justice and a host of dignitaries at exactly 10:20am. Eleven other MLAs of the SDF also took the oath of office as the chief minister’s council of ministers. Sikkim Krantikari Morcha chief PS Golay, along with the remaining nine victorious legislators of his party, was present during the occasion. The chief minister will hold the portfolios of the Home; Finance, Revenue and Expenditure; Development and Planning; Economic Reforms; the North East Council Affairs Departments; and other departments not specifically allotted to any among his council of ministers.

DD Bhutia has been appointed Minister of Energy and Power Department and Labour Department; 

GM Gurung is Minister of Sikkim Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) and Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department; 

RB Subba has got the portfolio of the Human Resource Development Department, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Law & Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department; 

SB Subedi is Minister of Rural Management & Development and Panchayati Raj Department and Cooperation Department; 

Dorjee Tshering Lepcha is Minister of Sikkim Public Works Department (Building & Housing) and Transport Department; 

Somnath Poudyal has been appointed Minister of Food Security & Agriculture Development, Horticulture & Cash Crop Development and Irrigation and Flood Control Department; 

Ugen T Gyatso is Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Commerce and Industries Department;

NK Subba is Minister of Urban Development & Housing Department and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department; 

Tulsi Devi Rai is Minister of Water Security & Public Health Engineering Department and Social Justice & Empowerment & Welfare Department; 

Tshering Wangdi Lepcha is Minister of Forest, Environment & Wildlife Management, Mines, Minerals and Geology and Science and Technology Department;

Arjun Kumar Ghatani has been appointed the Minister of Healthcare, Human Services & Family Welfare Department and Animal Husbandry Live Stock Fisheries & Veterinary Services Department.
