Do not search for me in newspaper headlines: Ahluwalia

EOI
Kurseong : Local MP and senior BJP leader SS Ahluwalia has urged the people of the hills to remain patient and allow him to work for the fulfillment of their dreams. Speaking today at the GDNS Hall here as part of the victory celebrations organised by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, Ahluwalia said his name should not be searched in newspaper headlines. Instead of trying to hog the limelight, he prefers to keep a low profile and work for the people, stressed the MP. He said now that he has become the representative of the people of the Darjeeling hills, he is a public servant and will work without any bias.

There is a vast difference between a political party candidate and a people’s representative, noted Ahluwalia. As a representative of his constituency’s people, he must serve one and all regardless of party affiliation, caste and creed. This guideline applies to all representatives of the people, including the GTA sabhasads, said the BJP veteran. Further, he asserted he is not talking just for the sake of it and would fulfill the hills’ aspirations, but people must have patience and faith in him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already announced in his Khaprail that the dreams of the Gorkhas are also his dreams, reminded Ahluwalia.
