People celebrates Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Kurseong

KURSEONG : The holy procession lord Jagannath or Jagannath Rath Yatra was held in Kurseong amidst full fanfare, following traditional norms and rituals. The sacred Yatra started from Jagdish Mandir in Naya Bazar, covering the entire central premises of the town, where large number of waiting devotees offered their prayers to Lord Jagannath. After a yearly tour of the town, Lord Jagannath’s statue was brought back to its temple precinct, where further pujas were carried out. Devotees and worshippers were distributed prasads during the brief yatra.
