Nepali worker Yuvaraj Gurung killed in Hong Kong
HONG KONG: A Nepali
worker has been killed in Hong Kong, who was working in the tunnel
construction of the Chinese High Speed Railway on the stretch of
Gwangu-Hong Kong-Beijing. Local police authorities have identified the deceased as Yuvaraj Gurung.
According to the authorities, Gurung was hit by an excavator driven by
fellow Nepali Navindra Malla as Gurung was digging the 60-meter-deep
tunnel. The police have not detained Malla saying that the investigation
is underway.
Gurung was immediately taken to a local hospital, where the doctors
declared him dead. The dead body has been taken at a local mortuary.
Gurung was the supervisor of a three-member team which was deployed for
digging the tunnel. The Hong-Kong police and labor affairs department
have jointly been investigating the case, a local Daily Ming Pao
reported on Thursday. Gurung, 37, had been in Hong Kong for a long time,
who had got married a few months ago.
